There is no offline search, if internet connection is missing or blocked, all searches in the program lead to nothing but a "Your search - XYZ - did not match any documents." message, so for those without a internet connection, this program is pretty much useless.
Other than that, it did work as advertised in my short test, created a Zone index, made a search and it did find the documents containing the text.
Just for the fact that it doesn't work offline, it is a real dealbreaker for me.
Chasm, Why does a programm searching a local computer need internet connection??? Looks like thes want to participate on your documents, doesn't it?
2 fantastic Freeware pieces of software do the same without I-net connection: Agent Ransack by Mythicsoft or Ultrasearch by Jamsoftware. Give them a try, they might be better suited for your purposes.
Nothing beats Agent Ransack and FileLocator both free and both search files or test inside files or doc's also search by time and date.

Doesn't work. While scanning at opening, it crashes. I tried unchecking many directories, (I've left only D:/ Docs) no use
