Eraser does it well, probably better. It is highly rated by CNET. And it's FREE. Also, all you have to do is right-click the file and select erase.

It works.
However, I am not too impressed.
It uses a fairly tedious version of an internal explorer,
Keeps flashing content off and on, and is full of grammar errors.
If software contains grammar errors and typos, that is evidence that there will be slips in the code. (I know this from many hours of browsing through open-source software code).
Overall, you can use it for its intended purpose, but
1) Do not rely on it to be totally bug free and
2) Be careful- There are a number of other errors that are popping up when I run it. I don't want to go pointing any fingers just yet, but you should be wary. Note that I am testing this on a post vista version of XP home, so your machine may react differently.
Not bad software, installs good, runs good but you can never be sure how secure, 'secure' really is.

So Bill Gates, contrary to your assertion, did NOT invent BASIC. I was using a version of BASIC before there were personal computers, back in the days when you had to submit a stack of Hollerith punched cards to the computing center and then come back in a couple of hours to get your printout.

si può installare in una chiavetta x cancellare l'intero hardisk di un vecchio pc in disuso prima di buttarlo?

il programma fa quello che deve fare. ma rispetto ad altri sw a pagamento e un po piu lungo. ad ogni modo il tempo non e eccessivo e puo costituire una buona soluzione.
