DOUBLE DRIVER can only backup and restore your DRIVERS but it's not able to UPDATE any of them....so it cannot definitely be compared to this GAOTD as FREE Alternative!!
Despite negative and misleading comments like the one mentioned above, I found this software pretty GOOD & USEFUL and, for this reason, I highly recommend you downloading and installing it as soon as you can!!

That being said, if you prefer relying on FREE solutions, the first thing to do in order to keep your PC in perfect shape (for FREE of course)is actually to update its INTEL drivers:

I tried Driver Magician a few years ago and it didn`t work, I still had to re-install my sounds and graphic drivers. Maybe these bugs are fixed now?

Just compared dozens of driver backup and reinstallation software, and this is the worst! Software embodies large quantities of Chinese characters.
I'm surprised at the lack of positive reviews. Driver Magician has done wonders for me. I had some malware that couldn't be removed without screwing up my laptop and I couldn't get online via wireless (a couple of other problems too) I plugged in my ethernet cable and used Driver Magician and it updated my network drivers and I was back to wifi in half and hour. It fixed some other stuff too.
I back-up my drivers as a safety precaution (like you back up your registry before cleaning it) I have never had to revert back to my back-ups so I can't attest to that feature but I highly recommend this product. I am pretty computer savvy but drivers has never been my forte so I appreciate it doing the checking and updating for me.
I know this isn't really a review with a sweet list of freeware alternatives but I felt I owed Driver Magician my own positive experience shared here. They saved me from an invasive laptop repair or having to restore my laptop to factory state.

Double Driver is a system tool that you can use to detect, backup and restore the drivers of your computer. It is basically a security measure in case these files become corrupted, infected, or if they are accidentally removed.

concordo con boboskij: in caso di problemi col nuovo driver li identifichi subito e puoi rimediare alla situazione senza impazzire a cercare la causa.

ho provato a installare questo programma e a parte le altre considerazioni, anche se giuste, ho notato che nello scaricare qualche
aggiornamento di drive, ci impiega una settimana x scaricarlo; quindi x me è pollice verso.

Driver Magician 3.68 è un discreto programma tuttavia SlimDriver è gratuito e più efficente.Pollice sù perchè in fondo è tra i programmi "storici"per l'aggiornamento dei driver del pc. P.S. Caro Boboskij quello che dici è valido nella misura in cui non sai gestire un semplice programma d'aggiornamento driver.Ovvio che se uno è imbranato non è per lui.

Non capisco, e mi scuso per la mia ignoranza: perchè mai uno dovrebbe archiviarsi vecchi drivers, quando nel sito dei produttori si trovano certamente quelli più recenti e sicuramente più stabili..?

i driver che dovevo aggiornare, scaricati con questo programma sono versioni datate quindi il database non è per niente all'altezza. Qui non un buon programma!
