This program is almost identical to YouTubeGet. The only differences between this program and YouTubeGet:

YouTube Music Downloader can output into all the formats of YouTubeGet plus WAV, WMA, AAC, AMR.

YouTube Music Downloader's "Music Browser" has the YouTube categories built in as buttons that you can click on as opposed to just having a "Browser" load like a webpage.

That all being said, I still say ClipFinder + FormatFactory is better. You will be able to get videos/music off video hosting websites other then just YouTube with ClipFinder and you can use FormatFatory to rip the sound off those videos into more sound formats then MP3, WAV, WMA, AAC, AMR.

* Nice clean interface.
* Easy to use and straightforward.
* You can convert YouTube videos directly into WMV, MOV, MP4, 3GP, AVI or MPG videos (or download them just as FLV).
* You can rip sound off YouTube videos directly into MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, AMR sound formats.
* When you copy a URL a YouTube URL, the program automatically detects it.
* Built in YouTube 'browser' with YouTube music categories listed.
* Has a small widget that you can drag + drop YouTube URLs into.
* Program tells you when you have a valid URL that you can download from and when you don't.
* Pretty quick conversions from FLV -> other formats.
* You can queue up video downloads/conversions while other videos are download/converting.

The Bad
* Only works with YouTube and not other video hosting websites.
* Does not have the ability to rip the sound off the videos into OGG format.
* You can't resize the 'browser' window (it is pretty small).
* "Remove" button does not remove a video/stop it after it passes the "Awaiting" stage.
* No batch processing/you can't download or covert more then one video at a time.
* Does not have a built in converter to allow you to convert files on your local computer.
* Default download location is set to YouTubeMusicDownloader folder in Program Files.
* Everytime you close/reopen the program, the download location reverts back to default.
* A webpage opens up, in your default browser, after you click on "Register" prompting you to buy the software.
* A webpage opens up in IE (regardless of your default browser) after you register the software taking you to the developer's website.

Registration and installation
Registration and installation went fine. Be sure to manually insert the registration code provided in readme.txt. You can find the registration box under Help -> Register. Be warned that when you hit "Register" a page will open up that takes you to a page where you are prompted to buy YouTubeGet. After you successfully register, a page opens up in IE that takes you to the developer's website.

Verdict
I gave YouTubeGet a thumbs up and I also give YouTube Music Downloader a thumbs up. My reasoning is the same behind both ratings: ability to download/convert YouTube videos directly into formats other then FLV and the ability to rip sound directly from YouTube videos helps cut down on middle management and helps make a person more efficient. However, my recommendation is still the combination of ClipFinder and FormatFactory. ClipFinder is an amazing program that acts like a search engine for 14 popular video hosting websites and has the ability to download videos while FormatFactory has the ability to convert those videos into whatever format you want and to rip the audio from those videos into whatever format you want.

Again a unique website oriented software. That's a nono and shows the developper is not willing/capable/you-name-it to add other popular video repository webistes.

As I've mentionned when YouTubeGet was offered here just 3 days ago:

Sorry but I much prefer VideoGet that was offered here twice (I missed the second updated version exactly when my adsl modem was being repaired).

Anyways, VideoGet has 2 (make it 3) major advantages over todays offer:
1) it rips not only YouTube vids but supports more than 120 sites if I recall correctly. And the developer adds stuff constantly (EDIT: now 350+ websites supported)
2) VG can fetch the video title (the one that appears just above the movie on Youtube’s site) and uses that as the file name. Saves a lot of time, it’s a no brainer.
and a bonus: 3) you can set a folder location to save files automatically, no need to constantly open the dialogbox like YTG
Ah I forgot that the newer version of VG (the one I missed) 2.x has an IE plugin and one for Firefox as well to speed up the whole selection process.


I will add now that VideoGet can save fetched files as MP3 and WAV besides many video formats.

Tried to download "DJ LMF Feat Sharron Knight Good Enough"
Downloaded with &fmt=18 (View in HQ Audio and Video)
Successful

The program detecting youtube link on clipboard, i select the output format. Converting to Mp3. And i choose the output folder
It began downloading. This is the minus of this software. Doesn't show how many MB left or how many MB downloaded. But the download process went fine.
After download, it's converting, took around 10 secs on my computer

Everything done, I can enjoy the music :D

I've used v1.0 which was a previous GAOTD with satisfying results. The downloads were quick and there is a good selection of output formats. I mostly used mp3. Never had a problem. My OS is XPsp3. Often was able to download videos that were supposedly removed or blocked. I'm taking this opportunity to upgrade to the current version. Highly recommend you give it a try.
