A different than normal installation in that it is only when setup is begun that the full download takes place.
When the download had completed it informed me that it had to remove a previous version of this software.
Having used this video editor before there were no surprises as far as I could see, not that I could see too much as the interface was designed so that older eyes could not use it, frankly the worst interface I have ever come across.
Possibly there are skins so I could change it but I can't find the damned thing if there is, hopefully there is a Braille button somewhere included.
I have found this program to be easy-to-use in the past, useful for improving those home video recordings as the visual quality can be modified text and objects added plus transitions, well worth keeping.

Now where's that Braille button!

Wondershare Video Editor, like all products from Wondershare Company, slyly installs the adware program Wondershare Studio (aka Helper Wondershare Compact or WSHelper).
This unwanted program that is not necessary for the proper functioning of Video Editor moved without warning to the following location C \ Program Files \ Common Files \ Wondershare \ Wondershare Helper Compact with replication of some files in the AppData \ Local \ Wondershare.
Obviously, this program does not appear in applications that can be uninstalled easily.
Wondershare uses the same method as the other well-known publishers such as Aimersoft, iSkysoft, etc.

Personally, I consider this opaque method as unfair to the consumer.

Installed and registered on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 Bit system with a little problem.

The installer downloads a lot of installation files via the Wondershare WAC Downloader. This should be mentioned during the installation process. The WAC downloader is a safe task, but I generally dislike downloader, which do not tell, what they are doing.

A Chines company with address, phone&fax.

Upon start the typical video editor window with timelines for video, PIP (several), effects(of added) and text opens. You should download the additional 80 MB of resources (PIP, Transitions and Effects beforehand)

The color of the user interface is... at best Chinese. For me a terrible color, which cannot be changed. What a pitty. It hurts my eyes.

Added are the usual transitions. The PIP defaults are childish. The ability to add text is simple, and absolutely sufficient. There are more effects, than you can use...

All in all a simple and easy to use video editor, for a quick editing of home material.

Makes a good impression.

So that means you can't scan with a security software BEFORE installing. So you don't know the safety of the download or what is actually being installed. If this is a new method being used by software providers, heaven help us all.

@Wondershare: Check your website. Clicking the "See how it works" opens a video that is being internationally blocked by YouTube. You should host the video on your website verses using YouTube, its simply more professional.
