Pros: Advanced options for customizing your output, lot of formats.
Cons: Advertising in the middle of the GUI. EXTREMELY slow encoder. Ugly GUI with very little logic to it.
Opinion: FormatFactory is free, MUCH faster, supports more formats, better (not much) GUI, and did I mention it's free? Tried this, would not buy it, uninstalling it.
I really don't like the advertising right in the middle of the GUI. There's links to several of their products. It make the GUI look very ugly.
Some of my complaints:
- advertising
- slower than other converters
- resulting videos from wmv sources are slightly out of sync
- coverted videos show a green bar on Windows Media Player sometimes
- mov and flv files don't support h264 video/aac audio
- no mpeg1; 3gp; rm; wmv3 output

I’ve always believed if you’re going to rate and comment on a GOTD you should at least install it and play with it for an hour or two. Now there are exceptions to that rule, and I think this program falls into those exceptions. On the developer site they make reference to the awards they’ve received; a favorable editors review on Softpedia, Snapfiles, and PC World. Searching at Softpedia I found a WinX Video Converter Platinum and WinX Video Converter 3.7 Build 20090513, only they name the developer as Freetime Soft Inc. and neither had a Softpedia Editors review. Snapfiles has a “WinX Free iPhone Video Converter” by Digiarty Software, however there is no WinX Video Converter at that site. PC World has a WinX DVD Author that had an editors review, but there isn’t a WinX Video Converter on their site.
The “About” us on the developers site makes reference to Digiarty Software working together with MasterSoft as “cooperating partners with shared resource and independent identity” (for whatever that means your guess is as good as mine). They go on to say that “Digiarty Software, Inc. is a software company specialized for DVD and other common popular pocket-sized multimedia devices such as iPod, Zune, PSP etc. converting. We started this program form 2006, for about 3 years, and now, we nearly have 8,000,000 clients using our products”. “We are still always trying our best to improve our products, for example, our WinX DVD Author version is enhancing to 5.5 now. We wish one, or more of our products could make your free time colorful, if you have any suggestion about our products, could you please tell us? That will be very appreciated if you could contact with us, and we will go to great lengths to satisfy you or do as your suggestion if we could. Wish everything goes well for both of us”.
We started this “form” 2006? Claim they have nearly “8,000,000” clients? Be afraid people, be very afraid! With these types of discrepancies the program is simply not worth installing and trusting the code is stable enough not to reek any havoc on my PC. And from all I’ve seen I’d carry that attitude through every product made by this developer.

Oggi non scriverò nessun kommento da GEEK perchè è ovvio che FORMAT FACTORY è in assoluto THE BEST nel campo della conversione... ve ne siete akkorti persino voi poveri diavoli!! lol!!!
Ieri nella sezione amerikana il mio commento ha avuto un voto di -200.. è un vero record, nessuno nella storia di Giveaway aveva raggiunto un simile risultato, ve l'avevo detto che Cerbotto esce sempre vincitore!! lol!lol!lol!
Ovviamente la mia era una tattika da Geek studiata ad arte per mettere a confronto la american section, con il suo sistema di commenti efficacissimo che non perdona, e il DEGRADO in cui versa la nostra sezione, ormai ridotta ad un CUMULO DI MACERIE...
Non a caso è da tanto che sto chiedendo l'implementazione anche qui del sistema di voto ai commenti... potrebbe essere un'ottima idea per risollevare la situazione, e magari anche il mio AMICO GEEK @TURBOD, l'unico ke scriveva cose sensate, potrebbe ritornare... ma niente, qui è come parlare al muro!!!
Diciamo la verità, solo io e GIOVI facciamo proposte concrete per migliorare la situazione della sezione italiana!
Infatti entrambi voliamo sempre più in alto di tutti!!

neanch'io riesco a riprodurre il formato avi... Cosa che invece non succede con Format Factory, che uso già da parecchio, e che consiglio vivamente. Se qualcuno riesce a far funzionare correttamente il programma di oggi, per favore lo segnali...Voglio capire se sbaglio qualcosa.
Scusate se vado OT, ma per curiosità sono andata a leggere il post di ieri di Cerbotto nella sezione americana. A parte l'ormai noto copia/incolla, il nostro astuto amico ha aggiunto di suo pugno soltanto poche righe...tutte inevitabilmente sbagliate! Ma è possibile scrivere tre frasi in croce e sbagliarle tutte, e pretendere pure di comandarsela? Ahahaha! O questo è proprio scemo, oppure è masochista, come qualcuno ha ipotizzato ieri.

Il programma si installa regolarmente, e fa quello che dice ma mi permetto di consigliare come qualcuno ha già fatto nel forum FormatFactory, free e altrettanto funzionale
