As with many of the giveaways, I like to go to the company´s website and see what they say about themselves. In particular, I like to find out a bit more about the company and where they are located. This giveaway seems really suspicious to me, but I should be cautious about this since it is an opinion.
Their own website says the following about the company:
YL Computing, Inc is a software design and marketing corporation which was founded in November 2006 and located in:
9625 West 76th Street
Eden Prairie, MN 55344
United States of America
We are one of the original manufacturers and vendors of our software and related products. Since our beginning we have come a long way in terms of service, products, and technology to offer you the best in tools software solutions.
Our products has received major write-ups in: Time Magazine, Newsweek, Business Week, The Washington Post, ABC World News Tonight, NBC Nightly News, CNN and MSNBC.
Our company mission is to provide users with quality tools software. We offer pre sale support and most post sale support to attempt to keep our customers 100% satisfied.
If you have any questions for us please feel free to contact us.
I did a Yahoo! search for this address and came up with a bunch of folks who seem to share the same address, not least of which was http://www.pc-spy-keylogger.com/about.htm which offers EXACTLY the same text in their information about who they are.
There was also this complaint about an unauthorized charge for the same address, this time listed as Digital River.
So I then did a Google Maps search and looked at the building, which is labeled for both Digital River and another company called Hysitron, which makes composite materials.
So I looked up Digital River, which is indeed located in Minnesota and could possibly have an office in this place.
But then I went to CNET and they reviewed this in 2010 and it has had 1.7 million+ downloads, some favorable, some not, but overall at 4 stars from users and 5 stars from CNET.
What is my point?
a) That I am unlikely to download and install software from companies of dubious reputation who potentially lie (or fib a little) about who they are and where they are.
b) That as I noted for the previous utility software, that because of the risk posed to my computer if this software goes awry, that reputation is all that the company has--do not risk that.
c) That I am thoroughly confused by the conflicting bits of info I have. So, even though the CNET review was very positive, I am still unwilling to even try the software based on the potentially misleading info and the few really lousy reviews.
GAOTD folks frequently note that non-users should not generally comment and I would agree if we were talking functionality. But whether or not I can trust the offerer is a big part of that first barrier to entry.

Very similar to Glary Utilities Pro - Glary Pro users will notice right way that this one looks like the same software with many of the same features.
BUT THESE ARE NOT THE SAME
It's obvious somebody designed a competitive program, with a very similar main-interface
I launched several of the tools side-by-side.
(every tool featured in the picture was actually much different)
This is not the same program. Several of the tools have different features, and they look different. The registry cleaners are different, with a different strategy. Glary will find more after adding the add remove programs, and the customs... WinUtilities is flagging more entries in the registry as errors. Be careful when cleaning the registry and make a back up.
WinUtilities Pro has a few added features, like the BHO manager, and a password protect for files.
Win Utilities has it's own defragmenter with a nice graphic display. Win Utilities has a process manager, while Glary Utilities has a startup manager. WinUtilities Uninstaller found 567 programs, while Glary found 537.
It does not appear that there is a free version of this program, like there is with Glary.
Glary has a disk analyzer, which shows the usage and some details of your hard drives. WinUtilities Pro does not have a disk analyzer. Glary has a few tools, but nothing necessary. I found an empty folder finder
I' very glad to see this one here, and having the extra features are a nice benefit. The free edition from Glary hads similar tools - if you miss today's deal, check it out.

While a lot of u are too quick to bash #3, he is just being cautious..buti can understand his way of thinking..
Back a month or two same thing happened to me..a product was offered, and it turned they claimed they were from such and such a place..i won't say where but I HAPPENED TO WORK THERE!!! was no such thing as the product being offered there so don't be so quick to pounce on #3.
As for those who say he needs professional help..maybe u are the ones who need it..here u are judging someone who is being cautious and u put him down...think about what u say before posting...u lose creditabilty puttign people down when u don't know the first thing about them...
Have a great day

#4 Gary: Thanks for your careful comparison, these are the kind of posts we all (I hope it's OK to say I'm speaking for everyone) like to read.
GOTD does not push or coerce anyone into installing software, one of the beauties of this site is that the offerings are free without strings; we are even reminded not to install everything and anything in order to avoid bloat.
I'm selective in what I install but have several cherished programmes still working away years later.
SUGGESTION re Thumbs Up vs Down
Yesterday's comments focused as much on the voting as the software. The thumbs up or down at the top of the page look very much like they are based on gut reaction, not evaluation.
Would it make sense to have a Star Rating at the foot of the page between the last posting and this "Leave a comment" box headed something like, "Evaluation" or "Tried & Tested"?
There could even be a tick-box where we have to confirm that yes, I have tried the software out before giving my star rating.
It would be interesting to see how the stars differ from the thumbs.
