Hi all, my 2nd attempt at posting - sorry in advance for the potential duplication, if GOTD does not catch my 1st post - my review follows:

* Successful download, installation, activation, registration on Vista HP x64 SP2 OS.
* Registration info. successfully displays in About section of software program.
* Pleasant, clear, simple easy-to-understand, easy-to-navigate GUI.
* Software program may be installed on many PCs for use by 1 person, or on a network for use by many users.
* Supports 13 install languages: catala, dansk, deutsch, english, espanol, euskara, francais, italiano, nederlands, norsk, portugues brasil, portugues portugal, suomi.
* Supports 6 non-english interface/GUI languages: french, german, hungarian, italian, spanish, portuguese.
* provides use of 52 different keyboard-language layouts (too many to list here.)
* Supports right-click context menu to custom-tailor programm settings, features and functions.
* Supports two typing-level categories: skilled, unskilled.

* Has a "skilled typist" and a "unskilled typist" mode.
* "Unskilled typists" allows user to take advantage of a 75,000+ English dictionary for word suggestions.
* Full Unicode support.
* Application independent - works with most programs that involve typing.
* Has the ability to exclude specific programs so Typing Assistant won't give suggestions while typing in those programs, or the ability to set Typing Assistant to only work with specific programs.
The Bad
* Does not have the ability to make anything truly "automatic" - you must use the pop up menu every time.
* Sometimes it works (gives suggestions like it should) and sometimes it doesn't.

This is improved over the earlier versions given away. See their website for upgrading instructions. Whether it's useful depends upon how well you type and whether you like this type of interface. As with most utilities, default hotkeys will conflict with other applications.
This doesn't directly compare with some of the alternatives mentioned, they all have different feature sets.
tinySpell (free or paid) has the as-you-type spelling suggestions, but only for misspelled words.
PhraseExpress (free or paid) is more sophisticated but doesn't actually have a dictionary for checking spelling.
ActiveWords (paid) and Nagarsoft Direct Access 2 (paid) have text expansion and automation features but no dictionaries.
Keybreeze (free for personal use) has pasting and launching abilities.
Numerous clipboard extenders, from free to paid ones like Thornsoft ClipMate, have pasting abilities using abbreviations.
Today's game giveaway had to be cancelled due to technical difficulties, so I've posted some excellent alternatives over in the forums that include a tram and motorcycle simulator, a fututistic basketball game called Jetball, A space orientated platform game called Helillom Planet and an unusual RPG done in the style of a old comic book.

Thanks to GAOTD and Typing Assistant developer. This software is very useful for me.
I like the Alt + Left/Right/Up hotkey very much. You needn't define and remember the hotkeys for each pieces of text. For example, just press Alt+Left you can get all the abbreviations list. Then type letter(s) to filter the list. This is better than other text expanders.

Salve a tutti ho scaricato il software e spero che mi sia davvero utile, perchè scrivo tanto, faccio le traduzioni.
Una domanda, ma insieme c'era anche un altro software "software informer"..???
ma esiste la spiegazione come usarlo....
ho visto la guida ma non ho capito ancora l'utilità di questo sofware.

Come troppo spesso, la gente parla senza nemmeno sapere cosa dice...
Se, dato che avete perso il tempo di scaricare la TRIAL ITA, aveste provato anche una delle altre TRIAL, avreste visto che non funziona nemmeno con quelle la chiave di GiveAway.
Il Software, come detto sopra, funziona anche in ITA facendo quei due semplici passaggi gia' specificati sopra.
Non e' certo un "must-have", ma cio' soprattutto per il fatto che il vocabolario e' estremamente ridotto per l'ITA, ma puo' far comodo a chi digita molto.
Certo che, dato che questi Setup sono fatti "ad-hoc" per GiveAway, (il file EXE e' infatti diverso dai TRIAL scaricabili dal sito) avrebbero potuto anche fare la fatica di mettere anche i vocabolari delle altre lingue e l'autoimpostazione di GUI e vocabolario, in modo molto semplice, dato che la fanno scegliere in fase di install.
Non credo che 2 o 3 MB in piu' avrebbero creato molti problemi nei d/l.

Gli "sviluppatori professionisti", se vogliono farsi pagare $40 per un programma, sarebbe meglio che invece di rilasciare una cosa fatta a meta', la rendessero completa, prima di rilasciarla giusto per vedere se riescono a "fregare" qualcuno coon un'applicazione incompleta.
(per me un vocabolario di 35.000 parole, contro oltre 110.000 di Inglese o 120.000 di Tedesco e Macedone, significa dilettantismo, non professionismo...)

Installato funziona benissimo anche con la lingua italiana, dopo aver selezionato l'intefaccia, basta inserire il file italian_common.bsc cioè il vocabolario italiano nel percorso \AppData\Roaming\Typing Assistant (English) 5.0\Basic
il vocabolario lo potete trovare nella cartella BASIC scaricando la versione USB stick italian version, scompattando il file zip.
Poi vi resta solamente selezionare all'interno del programma il dizionario ed attivare i suggerimenti in tempo reale.

Forse non riesco a capire il problema degli altri frequentatori del sito.
La localizzazione in italiano funziona pur installando la versione inglese di gaotd (tasto destro sull'icona nel tray -> Lingua dell'interfaccia) Dal sito si può scaricare il dizionario base italiano e salvarlo nella cartella dei dizionari (su Vista: Utenti-> [nome utente] -> AppData -> Roaming -> Typing Assistant (English) 5.0 -> Basic) e poi selezionarlo nelle opzioni del programma. Ciò che è presente solo in inglese mi sembra sia l'autocorrettore (ma qualsiasi word processor anche free - es. Open Office - ce l'ha). Il programma risulta registrato anche dopo aver impostato queste preferenze. L'ho appena installato e quindi non ho potuto verificarne l'utilità ma penso che potrebbe migliorare la vita a chi scrive molto. In ogni caso mille grazie a questo sito perchè, anche se per motivi promozionali (ma del resto gaotd non è una ONLUS), ci regala ogni giorno programmi, talvolta veramente utili. Quanto alla valutazione del prezzo originale del software bisognerebbe ricordarsi che gli sviluppatori professionisti vivono di questo, è il loro lavoro. Non mi sembra vergognoso far pagare un programma 30-40 dollari. Se poi non serve basta non comprarlo. Ciao a tutti!

Già già... In effetti la versione inglese potrebbe fare comodo a un italiano che abbia dei dubbi dovendo scrivere in quella lingua...
Purtroppo, e basta leggere questi commenti per sincerarsene, agli italiani farebbe più comodo la versione che li aiuti a scrivere nella loro lingua madre... :-(

Il dizionario è solo in "english"; quello in italiano non accetta la chiave di licenza giveawayoftheday e rimane in prova per 20 giorni.

Incredibile!la licenza vale solo per il sw in lingua inglese. Ho provato a scaricare la versione per la lingua italiana, ma la licenza fornita non viene accettata. Peccato credo che ha pochi italiani possa essere utile un programma che ti aiuta solo se scrivi in inglese. La versione per l'italiano costa 35 dollari.....
