I've tried this with an old Blu Ray (Outcast starring Nicholas Cage & Hayden Christensen and a more recent title Shang Chi starring Simu Liu, Tony Leug and others). When selecting files, no files were detected when opening any of the folders within either of the Blu Rays. When selecting folders, the only one that showed any promise at starting the Blu Ray videos was selecting the movie directly from the ''This PC'' menu i.e my BD-RE Drive. The menu screen for each movie came up, but when trying to play either movie, it reverted to the applications main menu. I tried every folder to see if there was a recognisable file, but every folder appeared empty, despite both discs working perfectly on my BD player connected to my TV's and using other BD software players on my computer.
I do have some MP4 movies that I recorded some years ago to take on vacation, but they are backed up on one of my external drives and I don't have time to search for any of them at this time, so cannot see if they work; however, I expect they will. I'm sure someone from the community will confirm whether they do or not.
With respect to my first paragraph, it could be my PC's Pioneer Blu Ray player/recorder that is the issue, but I doubt it because the player does play both Blu Rays I mentioned above using another Blu Ray player we were given from this site (i'e' APeakSoft Blu Ray Player).
If anyone does get it to work directly from the BD drive, please tell me how you did it. Thank you.
Stay safe everyone.
