As the developer, let me be clear that you MUST be connected to the Internet when you run Simple Data Backup for the first time or it won't activate the "Giveaway" edition and will instead automatically revert to a limited "Free" edition. You will know you are on the right edition if when you click the About button it says "GA Edition". Also, I welcome any thoughts or suggestions for the software, just please keep in mind that this is file-level backup software, not drive-cloning or syncing software. Cheers! :) -Chris

Blackhat, Well I'm the developer of the software but not in charge of this site, but I myself tried out the email option and it came through immediately and worked flawlessly. I would say you might want to double-check your email and make sure you don't have a spam filter or something that wrongly deleted or moved the email from giveawayoftheday.com into a spam/junk folder. Other than that I wouldn't know how to help, sorry.

Blackhat, Yes. :) Though for "Direct File Copy" backups (the default), it only does so for files that couldn't be copied without it, thus saving backup time if it's not needed.

Installed and activated easily. Interface is professional yet easy to understand. Did one folder backup from 'C' to my SD card. Everything worked as it should. It's a keeper for me. Thank you for sharing it.

The difference between the Giveaway version, Free version and the Pro version is not clear to me...

Tommy, according to their website, free version has no cloud storage and other features... "The reasonably-priced Pro edition enables advanced functionality such as backing up to the 'Cloud'/remote servers via FTP/SSH/WebDav, email alerts, web reporting (backups can report status to the web so you can view status anywhere), and the ability to create multiple backups."
