Well, it seems to work well. Downloaded and installed it fine on Windows XP SP2. Hmm... Just testing it... it flickers a black screen for me when it records a targeted window. When recording the whole screen it works good though. It says that I need to turn off hardware acceleration to stop the black flicker...but when I did it didn't seem to help when recording the targeted window.
It's got some cool features, and works well so far as I can tell.
I like how it lets you adjust the framerate anywhere from 1fps to 60fps.
I quite like it. Would definitely be handy for recording video tutorials and stuff like that.
I'd give it a rating of 7/10 from my initial look around it.
OK isn't this the same thing as Manycam? If you miss today's giveaway you can download Manycam, its free and does so much more. Nonetheless i love turtles :)
ScreenCamera might work OK for/with webcams -- I'll leave that to those who use webcams a lot more than I -- but I found it's mediocre used only as a screen capture app. You're given your choice of 4 formats, none customizable, made up of avi compressed/uncompressed, & 2 quality levels of wmv. Video source can be your desktop or available sources -- I was given the option to use either of my 2 TV tuner cards for example, & if you have one hooked up when you run the app, you can use a webcam. For audio you similarly select a source -- it defaulted to my soundcard. [Note that many systems, especially laptops have recording speaker/headphone output disabled, probably as a means of DRM. If that's the case, you need to change that (sometimes possible) or add hardware &/or drivers before anything will record the sound you can hear.]
I couldn't get avi capture to work, but other than following the help file's suggestion of disabling audio capture, I didn't bother trying to diagnose the problem. Wmv gave me captures at 4300 - 5000 Kbps, 24 fps progressive video, 192 Kbps [48 KHz 16 bit] audio, at high quality, when set to 30 fps. Low quality dropped to ~400 Kbps. While you can choose the overall frame size of your captures, some of the more common sizes like 720 or 1080 for HD are not listed -- many folks do screen capture to show on a TV, so I thought it odd the 2 HD sizes they'd most likely use are absent. Tested/monitored in XP Pro SP3 32, playing video was not captured, cursor movement was captured a bit erratically [not smooth], & the cursor itself flickered a bit with the app running. [using the latest drivers from Logitech] On the plus side, CPU use was relatively low compared to a conventional video capture app [like VirtualDub] using the free unreal screen capture driver [10 - 40% vs. much closer to 100% for 1080p video screen capture with V/Dub], & all 4 cores were used. Install, & especially uninstall could be better.
ScreenCamera uses Installshield for setup, & a copy of the setup files are copied to the Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information folder -- those along with 1 driver, 2 system files, the driver's .inf file, & the program's folder are not removed when you uninstall. The system files are: BSwitch.ax & PCWinSoftBar.ocx - the driver is: SCRCAMHRDRV.sys. Registry impact isn't too bad -- recorded stats are misleading this time with a lot of entries deleted & then re-created -- but I'm concerned when an install modifies values in System Certificates &/or Licenses &/or Group Policy... Another app (or apps) may not like the modified value, Plus, uninstall might be expected to remove registry entries, not restore them to whatever they were before. Setup also unpacked but didn't use a .NET install file [.NET is already installed], though it isn't included in the requirements at the top of the GOTD page.

@ giuseppe per fare quello che dici tu è molto più semplice e non usi programmi: per essempio su skipe c'è una funzione condivisione schermo e automaticamente al posto di trasmettere la tua faccia trasmetti il tuo desktop!!!!
@pakitos ho fatto un salto nel sito del produttore e io per esempio possiedo già 1avscreen capture sempre di questa softwarehouse regalato da gaotd e mi sembra che già quel programma abbia le funzioni di questo,o sbaglio??qualcuno mi contraddica!
@ pato si ti do ragione che un programma di catture classico non può trasmettere ,ma quelli più evoluti si tipo cyberlink youcam per esempio,lo stesso software citato primo 1avscreencapture della stessa softwarehouse.....io vorrei capire se ha qualche funzione in più particolare!!!!!ma mi sembra di no..l'ho provato velocemete e si mi sembra fatto bene ,ma nessuna fuzione che non avessereo già i sw citati prima.cmq GRAZIE a tutti in particolare al simpatico pato e alle sue rime!!!

un tuo amico ti chiede come si fa a modificare un file, un dns, o cose varie.
tu invcece di stare li a perdere tempo in chiacchiere ti collegfhi con msn imposti la camera virtuale, ed in diretta attraverso msn gli mostri sullo schermo come si fa.
e abbastanza chiaro ?

Purtroppo, la cecità improvvisa che ha colpito la mia webcam, non mi ha consentito di testarlo.
Ho solo notato una certa pesantezza nell'utilizzo con camera virtuale, ma configurando il software nel modo corretto,penso proprio che sia risolvibile. (oltretutto il mio PC non fa più testo...se attendo ancora qualche mese, potrei forse richiedere una pensione d'accompagnamento per assistenza PC invalidi).
La differenza che puoi riscontrare, diversamente da un comune SW di screen Recording, è nella possibilità di inviare tutto ciò che sta accadendo sul tuo desktop, in tempo reale (by skype, MSN Messenger ecc.).
Può essere usato con una webcam collegata o integrata nel PC simultaneamente.
Per intenderci,hai la possibilità di trasmettere in diretta un tutorial, una bozza di teleAssistenza,
o anche solo per puro divertimento...mostrando in quel momento ciò che stai facendo.
Spero che qualcuno abbia avuto modo di testarlo, per poterti dare una spiegazione più dettagliata.

forte questo soft ,e piu importante installazione multilingua;
aumentando il framerate dei fotogrammi al secondo fino a 60 risulta molto fluido, devo ancora studiarlo bene ma sembra facile d'uso
