Create backup image of the drive after DC11 installation. Later when you need to reinstall the DC11 the only chance would be restoring to the state where DC11 was installed and working.

Compact edition was created for OEM channel, so it's paid version but it doesn't have its retail price and own website. We used website and price of DC 11 Pro for your info as Compact edition is built on the same engine excluding just a few features and covers most of migration scenarios.

Your email is used to register in our system to receive a serial number to unlock the product. We never use your contact details in any third party purposes.

P2P functionality can't be used without WinPE Recovery CD, which is usually not provided in special editions due to our license agreement with Microsoft.

This software contains fully functionally Recovery CD image inside so you download only one file not two. It's technically impossible to make file size very small without splitting it in 2 files. Recovery CD is extremely helpful to get all benefits from the software so we want everybody downloads it.

You basically get NOTHING out of it. BIG TIME WASTER. Unusual from Paragon (?).
I agree with TK, this is not far off from being a demo version. This is not the first time Paragon has done this either, i.e. "personal" editions of backup software. While I find it hard to complain about free software, there is a point to be made here.
We all come here to try software for free that we would otherwise have to pay for, in return the vendors are hoping that we will enjoy/find it so useful that we will recommend it to our friends or customers (which I have done), or purchase it if we are to use it in a professional environment. With a product like this we are not able to fully use the software, thereby making it hard to recommend, as well as the fact that has been pointed out, you cannot buy this version of the software. While I will try it out, I am very disappointed not to be able to try the virtualization option. On that basis alone I will not recommend this software to anyone.
Not to seem ungrateful, I greatly appreciate all of the free software I have downloaded over the years. And I have downloaded my fair share. The reason I come here daily to see what is offered is, while I may not need that days offering, I many times will install it to try down later and of course the advantage over downloading the demo version is that I am busy, and most demos are time limited. I may not need the software in the next 15 to 30 days or have the time to devote to fully trying it out right now, but down the road I may use it. That being said, if GOTD continues to allow vendors the option for these types of offerings they run the risk of damaging their reputation and becoming just another "demo" site.
As to mining of information (#2, Not Tellin), you say you already messed up and gave the address to someone untrusted. You might even find it necessary to abandon that address if things get too bad. I suggest you might want to look at a fantastic completely free forwarding service at spamgourmet.com. I've been using them for years (just a user, in no way involved with the operation), and they protect my private addresses just great. I can let legitimate mail through, or even just let one e-mail through to get a registration code like this one. and I can shut down a forwarding address if I ever see spam, all without risk to my private data. It isn't just commercial companies like you mention, I even had to block one address that I used to sign up for a technical forum when the idiot forum manager made it public and it started being spammed. Of course you want to be careful with all private data, not just an e-mail address, but the e-mail one is the only one I was concerned about with this offer and I used a spamgourmet address with no problem, so at least I will not be spammed.
OK, I took a copy, MIGHT come in handy if I replace this computer's hard drive with a larger one, particularly considering that I have other Giveawayoftheday software that I can't reinstall. But calling it "DriveCopyCompact"? Really? It is a 108meg+ download, for a "compact" program with some of the regular features removed? And it unzips itself into an even larger msi file, which has to be tracked down and installed. Users should be aware that the msi file is not removed as part of the install, so you actually have closet to 220 megs of wasted space in two files that can and should be removed after installing this "compact" program. And, of course, the 138,387,456 bytes that are taken up by the installed compact program itself, which stay until you uninstall. Unfortunately, I have no good way to test it at this time

@antoniovinci, grazie , ma ho paura di non essermi fatto capire: non ho chiesto se è possibile creare un "restore" parziale, ma se è possibile (nella fase di ripristino a seguito di una formattazione) ripristinare soltanmto specifici settori dal "restore" integrale.Mi sembra ovvio che non abbia senso creare un'immagine del disco quando il PC non è in condizioni ottimali(e infatti io non ho detto questo), ma io ho specificato che mi interessa "salvare e ripristinare" solo i programmi installati, per cui(in questo caso) poco importa se al momento della creazione dell'immagine il PC soffriva di qualche altra anomalia, purché queste anomalie non riguardassero il funzionamento dei softwares installati. Spero di essere stato più chiaro adesso. Cmnq molte grazie.

Non mi risulta che esistano programmi che "restorino" solo parzialmente.
Con Ghost si possono estrarre pezzi da un'immagine .GHO, ma il sistema operativo viene ripristinato integralmente.
Ultimo aspetto: ha poco senso crearsi l'immagine di un pc malato, siccome e' un'operazione da farsi subito dopo una formattazione e conseguente attivazione di Windows.

Io sono anni che mi propongo di usare programmi di questo tipo (acronis, ghost, reflect e via dicendo), ma non l'ho ancora fatto.Questo programma in particolare, offre la possibilità di ripristionare dall'immagine creata solo alcuni specifici settori? mi spiego: mi interesserebbe poter ripristinare soltanto i programmi installati e non l'intera configurazione del PC. Questo perché il mio PC attualmente non è in buono stato e se io creassi oggiun'immagine del PC non potrei poi riutlizzarla in seguito ad una formattazione perché riporterei il PC alle stesse condizioni "malate" di cui soffriva prima. Quindi chiedo se è possibile effettuare un ripristino selettivo dall'immagine creata dal programma. Ciao

non c'è scritto che non si può creare un disco di ripristino bensì un winpe cd che è basato su windows ma il recovery disc basato su linux è disponibile e con quello si fa il boot e gli dice dove si trova il file contenente l'immagine del SO e dove ripristinarla e lui fa il resto

Tuttavia, trattandosi d'un prodotto commerciale valido (anche se non consente di crearsi un disco di ripristino/avvio) è sempre meglio di niente.
Peccato che sia solo nel fastidioso inglese.

Se, come dice Algoritmo, non si puo' creare il disco boostrappabile di ripristino (floppy o CD), allora questo GAOTD non serve a nulla, anzi e' controproducente, e mi spiego.
Se Windows non parte, non partira' neppure Paragon, quindi sara' impossibile accedere all'immagine di "restore" ad es. salvata su disco Usb esteeno.
E' controproducente, perche' uno e' portato a fidarsi di questo programma, credendo che in caso di crash gli salvi la vita, ma senza disco di ripristino, la speranza restera' vana...
Resto quindi sul fedele Norton Ghost, tutta la vita.

Sicuramente un sw utile soprattutto se garantito dalla serietà e competenza della Paragon e se offerto gratuitamente. Personalmente utilizzo da anni Acronis True Image che più di una volta mi ha "salvato" permettendomi di ripristinare il pc dopo crash oppure altri casini. Oltrettutto (funzione purtroppo non compresa in questa versione compact del sw di oggi) mi è stato possibile reinstallare la copia clonata del pc anche in caso di mancanza o di malfunzionamento del so grazie all'opzione di creazione del disco di ripristino.
