Haven't tried this as I have another that does the job for me, but one sentence stood out from the above offer:
"NB: Lifetime license" (I expect this doesn't include updates, but nevertheless better than 6 or 12 mths)
Now that's a true giveaway! Well done Magoshare and GOTD.
The developer claims:
.."it also can recover lost files due to format, reformat, erasure, logical error, hard drive crash, OS upgrade/reinstallation, virus infection, partition loss, unexpected power off access denied, and other unknown reasons."
Since 99% of all HD failures occurs on drive C: and this software is installed and registered on drive C:, how is it possible to recover drive C: if it failed to boot or was reformatted by mistake?
Unless a recovery software creates an USB self booting drive with this software installed on it, the claims by this developer is bogus.
WOW! I am generally very skeptical about any GOTD programs, and paranoid to the point I install them on a "trash box" first, just to make sure they are OK. I just installed this easily, flawlessly on my Windows 10 live box. I have an SD card that contains JPEG and RAW images, and that card has those images deleted, and formatted. It not only found all those "lost" images, but when I clicked for thumnail views, it even shows the thumbnails for the RAW files, not just the JPEGs. I use a weird format, and *most* of the programs I try will not show the images for the RAW files. This one is a definate keeper, and I am SO glad I checked in for today's Giveaway. WOW!! WOW!! There was no BS installing, either. No signups, give your emails, jack around... just plain install and here's your key right in the readme file. WELL DONE Magoshare and GOTD! Thank you!!
James, after I saw your message, I returned to the SD card to re-evaluate and truly recover. This time, I selected a couple RAW files, each from different cameras - because it not only recovered what I previously formatted, it found things from a couple years ago, long since deleted. I also selected a Video file that it found. I asked it to recover the items. It 100% successfully recovered every thing I asked it to grab, and I went in and hit "play" on the video just to be sure it wasn't just the video image clip but would actually run. I used VLC and it ran perfectly. I'm super surprised, because I have many of these programs. VLC was the only program I tried, but it did run perfectly. I'm sure sorry to hear of your difficulty.
Installed internal D drive Win 10 x64 Pro. Ran ok. Didn't use the license yet. When ran it asked which drive to scan. Left on default C. Forgetaboutit. Began super long scan. Made some lunch & only 15% done showing at least 1M files scanned. Initially didn't seem to allow scanning of just 1 folder to test. It did seem to show the folders being scanned but drilling into one failed to force program to narrow scan to only that one. Uninstalling.
btw MostIWant has a USB memory card program give. Recuva stays the fave. Appreciate the lifetime free offer for a change.
End of install sends you to their site for some info & free uninstalled prg (prefer Revo uninstaller).

Quanta ignoranza a volte leggo nei commenti! Non me ne vogliate, ma se a "tentare" di recuperare i dati è proprio il disco principale (c:) basta mettere l'hard disk in "parallelo" in un altro pc. O utilizzare un "bridge", cavo usb con attacco sata e alimentazione, dove collegare l'hard disk da recuperare...
Usate un po' di astuzia e di apertura mentale!

I tried to recover deleted files in a USB memory: no way to recover any file.
I did the same with another USB memory: the program found a few deleted files; I picked one of them (approx. 100MB) and tried to recover. After half an hour the process was at its very early stage (the horizontal bar was less than 5% from its beginning). I tried to cancel the process, but the program did not respond, so that I had to force it to shut down.
Uninstalled.
