May 15th we had the "goldfishes animated wallpaper". I liked that one and I'm very pleased to see this "forrest aninated wallpaper" today.
It is pleasant to look at. Little flies catching the sun are the animated part. Very realistic and good atmosphere.
The makers really paid attention to the critics last time (comment 30, may 15th) because there are some improvements also.
Your background gets restored on exit, even if the background was stretched (with the goldfishes they got tiled)
Settings were only remembered when "start with windows" was checked, but now settings are remembered independant of that (exception is the "stretch" option).
There was no interaction with the background but now there is; rightclicking shows the appropriate menu (sometimes it hesitates though).
Still in for impovement:
Icon-background still gets changed and transparancy still gets lost though.
Compatibility with "fences" is still troublesome.
A new bug, focus somtimes gets lost (flashing tasks in the taskbar) when more tasks are runninig in the taskbar.
I still like these very much, keep them coming (thanks GAotD and AnimWp7) improvements aswell (thanks again AnimWp7)
Installed ok on Vista Home Premium.
Uses over 60 megs of ram when running (uninstalled)
While this isn't a very interesting scene, it works well with very low overhead on my Vista PC, but I did have to set XP SP2 compatibility. Minimizes applications on startup, which is annoying.
Animated wallpaper? Well yes, if you consider tiny dots floating around as an overlay to a static forest scene. I cannot see why anyone would use this let alone buy it. In my opinion this has no use whatsoever. The only saving grace is that the static pic is kinda nice, but with a web search one can find many scenes like this.

Memory and cpu-usage are high when nothing else is happening at your pc (just watching the desktop-screen).
I get max just below 40% CPU-usage.
But this is not telling anyone anything. All processes also have a priority level which is very important.
As soon you start doing something like opening a browser, the amount of cpu-usage (used by the wallpaper) suddenly drops way under 10 percent due to a low priority-level.
This means, when you are dong nothing it uses quite a bit of CPU, but who cares when you are doing nothing.
As soon you start something, cpu-usage drops substantially, which means the wallpaper is not in the way of the things you are doing.
This is a mistake very commonly made, just taking a quick peek in the taskmanager and that's it. But you always have to be aware of priority-levels and check while doing some other things too.
Fubar @3 already stated "it works well with very low overhead on my Vista PC". I wholeheartedly second that.
The wallpaper is made to not interfere with the things you're being busy with. That is rather quite good, isn't it (no more resource-hog stories).
Ofcourse in order to run, it will take resources perse, but this is meant to be eyecandy not to speed up your pc. When you like eyecandy, like I do (computers have to be a bit of fun too) this wallpaper is not to bad on resources an rather nce to look at when you return to your computer.
Only when your computer is still combustion-driven with stone components from the prehistory you might have an issue. -lol-

@Omega: il software che hai consigliato non è a gratis come questo, anzi credo che tu abbia consigliato un software craccato o da craccare e di per sé non è un'azione da consigliare... comunque tutto ciò la dice lunga riguardo a come utilizzi il computer. Prima di consigliare cerca di razzolare bene!

Su win7 non visualizza le icone sul desktop

Oggi per me è pollice su!
Il desktop animato è molto meglio di uno screensaver che oramai ha perso la sua iniziale funzione di protezione dello schermo ed è diventato un giochetto o giù di lì.
In questa nuova versione finalmente si può cliccare col destro sul desktop, però le icone rimangono bloccate. Ho scaricato entrambi i programmi e l'installazione è andata a buon fine.

Questi programmi non fanno altro che appesantire il sistema operativo senza che a questo inconveniente sia contemperata un'utilità/beneficio per l'utilizzatore e per il pc stesso. Se si guarda al proprio Pc quale strumento volto al superfluo e all'inutilità, allora ok, questo programma fa al caso vostro! Se al contrario si vuole un Pc che ottemperi alle vostre esigenze in modo efficiente, bè allora non installate troppe banalità di questo tipo. Alla fine il quesito da risolvere è il seguente: "tanto fumo e poco arrosto" o "tanto arrosto e poco fumo" ? Risposto a questo, sceglierete cosa sia più giusto da installare sul vostro fedele compagno di lavoro ed anche di tempo libero. Io intanto al programma proposto oggi do un bel pollice verso e lo definirei con una sola parola: superfluo.

Direi che sia ormai scontato ripetere che l'utilizzo di simili "abbellimenti" hanno un prezzo da pagare in termini di RAM.
Se proprio siete amanti delle personalizzazioni del desktop, provate anche a usare un maker portable (che lascia riposare il povero registro)
"Portable Animated Wallpaper Maker v2.3.0" di soli 5,69 Mb.
Avrete la possibilità di trasformare le vs.foto statiche in animate ed impostarle sul desktop. basta regolare i parametri di animazione ed il gioco è fatto... oltre alla soddisfazione di costruirsi qualcosa di personale.(nulla chiaramente di paragonabile a quello oggi proposto)
L'animazione di sfondo richiede minime risorse di sistema e può essere disattivata e attivata a vs.piacere

postai inizialmente usando schegge di fantasia informatica... se vuoi anche demenziale, ma è solo frutto di un piccolo (se vuoi puerile) sfogo, come sottile protesta per le attese necessarie alla pubblicazione dei post.(vero Popof?)
Mi sono detto: se approvano i miei... significa che la configurazione insolita di questo forum ha bisogno di tanti colori, dal "bianco" della competenza, al"giallo" della creatività poetica, al "rosso" della fantasia ed altro.
L'importante... indipendentemente che possa strappare un sorriso od una smorfia, che non abbia contenuti offensivi o devastanti, in caso di consigli inadatti o pericolosi per l'integrità del S.O..

qui di animato non c'è assolutamente niente! o è uno scherzo o qualcosa non funziona nel programma... Ricordo che era già capitato con Gold fish, della stessa casa produttrice, che alla prima proposizione non si vedevano i pesci nuotare. Qui è tutto fisso. Cos'è che si dovrebbe muovere esattamente? qualcuno vede qualcosa?
