DVDFab is well known as it's one of the few DVD copiers that can copy almost all DVDs, including the DVDs protected by the new forms of copy protections (Sony's ARccOS, Macrovision's RipGuard, ...), and it is usually updated as soon as a new variant of the protection is produced. However, since the GOTD license is valid only for the current version, it might become obsolete very soon.
If you cannot rip a new DVD with this GOTD, use the free DVDFab HD Decrypter, that is supposed to be updated constantly: http://www.dvdfab.com/hd-decrypter.htm
I still prefer the good old DVD Decrypter (no longer developed, and not related to DVDFab), as it fails with an error message when it cannot read a sector of the disc that is not supposed to be a protected sector, as it should. DVDFab will try to copy it anyway, and if the DVD has been damaged, you will end up with a bad copy, without being clearly informed of the problem. So, I recommend to use DVD Decrypter for unprotected DVDs, and DVDFab when it fails. DVD Decrypter is still available here: http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/

I have thoroughly enjoyed this product from the last GOTD. It works fast, clean and efficient. There is considerable flexibility in being able to take a standard double-density DVD and shrink it down to fit a standard 4.7Gb DVD (called DVD-5). Based on my experience with DVDfab, I purchased my own license for the extra functionality.
This software has not let me down. Thank you, GOTD.
Expiration date is only free upgrade date. Product can be used without any time limitation.
At least, that's what I understand from their faq.
What is your renew policy?
For many years, we have sold our products with lifetime support and upgrades at no additional charge. The increasing costs of maintaining and improving product feature sets and keeping up with ever changing protection schemes regrettably mean this is no longer possible.
You need renew if purchases made after May 8, 2008 if you just order 1 year/2 years/3 years/4 years item. Renewals will be available for a modest fee. If you won't pay the renewal fee, you can still use the old version of DVDFab on your computer. Purchases that were made before the policy change date will continue to receive upgrades and support benefits, and the product you ordered will never expire.

Well, you must be dreaming. There was no such offering on GOTD up to date! Everybody may check it by right-clicking on the publisher's name where you clearly can see today is the debut.

Apprezzabile la richiesta fatta dal team di GOTD verso la Fengtao Software di estendere la licenza per GOTD a 1 anno. Ma per il resto... comunque deludente. Alla Fengtao direi: "Si potrebbe dare di più... una volta tanto." E che caxxo.

Secondo me non ne vale la pena. E' un software invasivo, ogni tre per due ti apre una finesta del browser di pubblicità verso il suo sito e addirittura richiede il riavvio dopo l'installazione. Inoltre è attivo solo per un anno e solo con la funzionalità di copia DVD. Tutte le altre funzioni (copia blu-ray, copia verso dispositivo tipo ipad e iphone, ecc restano in versione demo!!!!!!!!!)

Personalmente non l'ho provato perchè ho già software che fan questo lavoro, ma è sicuramente un buon tipo di programma, molto utile.

Cari utenti.
Abbiamo contattato Fengtao Software sui problemi incontrati con la licenza del programma. La specificità del software implica che questo non funzioni senza aggiornamenti, così abbiamo chiesto di estendere la licenza per GOTD a 1 anno.
Qual è il risultato? Che una nuova build del programma è già stata caricata e non aspetta altro che essere scaricata. Non fatela aspettare! :)
ps: se ottenete il messaggio di errore “the key cannot be decrypted”, riscaricate la versione con la licenza di 1 anno.
