This software is a joke!!! I saved an identical copy of an MP3 file, then I changed the ID3 tags in one of the songs.
With MP3TAG:
https://www.mp3tag.de/en/
Then the software did not recognize the files as the same song anymore....
This is not an "Audio Comparing" software!!! It is a "FILE COMPARING" software!!!!
There are plenty of "duplicate file finder" that do the same thing but 100% FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

buckoooo,
Are you sure the duplicates you're referring to are EXACTLY the same? I would assume this software cannot identify files as "duplicate" when they actually vary by qualities such as bitrate or encoding method, etc., even when the audio content is conditionally identical.
For example, I also have a lot of duplicate MP3's, but most are not *truly* duplicate: let's say I have two copies of "Song A". One might be recorded at a bit rate of 192 and another might be at 128. As much as I'd love software that could tell me that I have two copies of the song (thereby allowing me to get rid of the copy of lesser quality), I really couldn't imagine today's program being able to compare the two and effectively determine that they were the "same."
And here's another scenario: I may even have two copies of some material, both at the SAME bit rate, but using different encoding methods, e.g., one with VBR and one with CBR. Like I said, if they could be identified via some automated method it would be great, as it would allow me to jettison the (most likely inferior) CBR copies, but again, I just don't see how a program like this could ascertain that they were dupes.
Admittedly I haven't tried the GOTD yet, so I'm just shooting from the hip here, but I'd imagine that this program could flag dupes (based on their "marketing" claims at the top of this page) if they were recorded with *identical* parameters, and I'd assume it could flag multiple files sharing the same (or similar?) ID3 tags.
But hopefully if I have some time later today I can try out the program and put some of these idle theories of mine to the test!

Yes, it is a simple binary comparator, if that. It is not content aware.

It will only allow me to scan folders on the C drive.
Sorry a waste of time.
