Installed and run and it said I had 22 outdated drivers on my windws 7 64 bit ultimate. Let ito update them, had to restart the prgram several times as it kept just closing down for some reason,. then it crashed my computer while installing updates for the USB drivers. After several attemps to restart my computer using the start windows normally where it alwas blue screened, I tried to start in safe mode but it blue screened again. Eventually it started after selecting start up repair.Uninstalled it after wasting 45 minutes of my time.
Installed on Windows 10 64 bit.
The first scan was incredibly quick and it found 3 outdated drivers.
Allowed it to install all 3 and the process was lightning fast.
In fact 2 fast because at one point in the process it claimed to be creating a restore point but it was too quick to be true and upon checking the recent restore points, it had not done so.
There is a nice option to allow you to request a driver if required.
I tested the option to backup the drivers and was amazed at just how quick it seemed to carry it out and upon checking the backup folder there was a folder created for each driver but unfortunately, every one of them had nothing but a readme.txt file with the text 'This device requires no driver'.
So it seems not to be compatible with Windows 10, although to be fair, it doesn't claim to be.
The old rule of thumb about drivers has been if something is not broke do not tinker with it . This goes for registry cleaners and driver updaters . If you are going to update the drivers look to see who it is that manufacturers the device you wish to update motherboard video sound etc . and get it or check to see if there is an update available a lot of these so called tools just grab generic drivers and you end up doing more harm than good . So if everything is running well and you have time to kill get to know your computer and its workings and go to the site directly saves a lot headaches
This is the problem with the drivers, there are two types, generic to windows and specific from manufacturers.
Now combined those two with different hardware, software, set ups and generics and you get a mush-mesh of communication requests trying to get to the CPU for processing.
You can not change the windows drivers specific to the OS and you can not just assume the new specific drivers are compatible with your hardware and therefore, sooner or later your computer will fail, not because of the new drivers, but because the combinations of set ups may not be compatible with each other.
Example. I have 3 different types of hard drives that require specific order of start ups and some drivers after installed will move up the order on the start up ladder and mess up your system.
If your computer is working fine, installing new driver may disrupt a sequence of order at start up and ruin your day, not because the new drivers are bad, but because the order of starting may not be compatible with your OS.
Everyone of us want fast computer, but the drivers may or may not be the vehicle to do that. Even the manufacturer drivers will fail if you change or upgrade your computer.
The new drivers are not designed to speed up your computer, they are there to fix some glitches and as a PR pretend stunt that the company still care for the consumer.
My experiences with driver updater software has been negative. I do not believe these programmes can have the computer make and model of every one going to be able to check, detect and then fix outdated drivers for each and every machine. My laptop had been messed up on a couple of occasions after giving these softwares a chance.... Never again. If i really wish to update or revert a driver i go to my manufactures website where my exact make and model is listed. I don't know how anybody professional or not could advise on using these types of products. Just be very wise if you are going to use this software.
