Not particularly impressed by its speed and effectiveness at finding duplicate files.
And honestly 29 $ for a program like this is something defying human understanding...LOL!

My favourite one is definitely AUSLOGICS DUPLICATE FILE FINDER(first link above), since it's even able to find files with identical pictures, not to mention that it compares files not only by names, but also by their content.

I have been using this program since the previous giveaway (v3.05), and I like it.
This version has a little nicer GUI, and is probably easier to use for the novice user ("If you don't know what to do, just press "run", you have to say YES to the filters before they turn up).
This is probably not the FASTEST program out there, but in my book, "slow" feels "safe". Emphasis on FEELS safe.
Installed on top of previous giveaway without the need of any codes.
I cannot get the help-file to work, which is NOT good, even for a quite intuitive program.
One nice improvement from the previous version (I can at least not remember it) is the option to mark a file to KEEP that file only, as opposed to having to mark ALL the files you want to delete.
I am still missing a feature like "show all files in this folder marked as duplicates", which would be really helpful to see if a WHOLE FOLDER is duplicates or if some of the files in the folder is unique. (Yes, I am paranoid, but I do not feel comfortable deleting a whole folder just because I believe it to be a duplicate folder. I want to SEE that all the files have been found elsewhere. (And where the duplicates are found).
This version of the clone-terminator have just the usual "this file has these duplicates, keep/delete" and then move on to the next file to do the same. If you could delete whole folders at once, you could save a lot of time when you work with a program like this.
The program is a keeper, nevertheless.
Too expensive for only one function. Free alternatives Advanced System Care or Glarys Utilities.
@7 If you are running Windows, then you should know that Symantec is probably more dangerous than the file you downloaded. There products have never played well with Windows. (computer tech, 25+ years)

My favorite is CloneSpy portable 2.62 (free, 1.3 MB) and former versions, I've been using for years and very often. All in English even Homepage (with lots of informations), despite of being from German author(s)! Lots of features.
You can choose between standard or portable installation.
For pictures: Dup Detector 3.302 (free!) which can even find similar pictures.

@ALESSANDRO: comunque, non dico che nessuno debba dire contro al programma offerto...ognuno e' liberissimo.....quello che ho voluto farti notare caro amico, e' il continuo dare sentenze negative a 30 e passa programmi, e direi pure che la maggior parte manco li hai provati!!
ACE quantomeno partecipa molto piu attivamente ...commenti positivi e negativi....se piace o no, perche non dirlo???
Ma ripeto, se a te, l'unico programma UTILE e' quello dell'elimina files doppi....beh...buon per te.....almeno so che tipo di programmi consideri eccellenti rispetto ad altri.....

Non ho fatto in tempo a risponderti ieri.....
Il programma in questione non l'ho scaricato perche assolutamente non mi serve ne tantomeno mi piacciono i servizi fatti visto che se una persona sa cosa e come mette i propri files nel pc, non ne ha bisogno.....
Considerando che per te e' utile solo questo programma....beh....buon per te.....(su due mesi di programmi dati giornalmente solo quello che elimina i files doppi ritieni utile???....)

Un programma semplicemente unico. Serve a ripulire il computer da tutti quei files, a centinaia, che si annidano un po' ovunque e che si riproducono come le cavallette e che uno non sa come sterminare

Funziona alla grande, nella mia cartella + di 10.000 tra foto e immagini ne ha trovate molte in brevissimo tempo meno di un minuto... pollice in SU Grazie

trovo poco sensato scaricare un programma del genere con un'unica funzione, quando la stessa è presente tra i tools di svariate utilities come Glary, Advanced System Care, AVG Tuneup, tanto per nominare qualcuna. Per oggi passo.....
