Excellent. It's really nice to see a screensaver after an absence of almost a year. I've missed the fortnightly screensaver giveaway. Lets hope they are making a comeback :) (though there will be those that are groaning).
That said I'm rather disappointed with this screensaver. I'd much prefer to see images of real city night scenes. Video clips of several cities could easily have been strung together to make an effective looking screensaver. Instead we have a screensaver that looks very unrealistic. Theres not enough variety in the building forms and the lights just look false. Ah well at least its free. :)

I'd get better results from videoing my Cities XL and making a screensaver for that. All I need is a freeware screensaver making program. Any ideas?
Unsuccessful installation on Vista (64-bit) OS. Ran it using Admin Privileges, but still did not work, so uninstalled it asap.
2 Freeware Vista-Compatible Options (to create screensavers from SWF & Video Files, respectively) are:
1. Instant Storm
2. Video Screensaver
This is an OK screensaver, but definitely not one of my favorites. I don't mind the primitive graphics, it's about the atmosphere, and even a slow GPU should handle this fine. There's not a lot of variety in the music or the scenery. However, it doesn't support multi-monitors. 64-bit users will need to change the installation, check previous screensaver giveaways. Other users having problems, your DirectX or video drivers are messed-up, or you have a really primitive graphics card. This creates an extensive log in the program directory. I'd rather it didn't, but if you're having problems, you can check the log (Program Files\Lacombo\3D-Big-City-Night\lacombo.log). On Vista and higher, the registration entries will get virtualized, which is generally OK, but it's better to right-click Activate and Run as an Administrator.
Install on windows 7 64 bit but just flashes black screen then exists.
I have uninstalled this one. It does not remove publisher from the registery when it uninstalls
It looks like GTA with all the fun removed.

Uno screen saver ? Passo ma di brutto... non saprei che farmene :(
Sono certo che coloro che hanno trovato un virus non hanno sbagliato... certo che se anche un sito come http://www.virustotal.com/it/ segnala qualcosa di strano quelli di GAOTD devono prendere dei provvedimenti nei confronti delle software house !

Non ho avuto modo di vederne l'effetto, in quanto non mi si attiva.
Ho comunque effettuato una scansione con 9 scanner antivirus e solo nod 32, clam e virus-guard lo identificano come virus. Penso si tratti di un falso positivo, essendo 3 motori che utilizzano un controllo euristico piuttosto complesso.
Comunque, utilizzando returnil, una fantastica applicazione che virtualizza il proprio sistema operativo,(indispensabile per testare programmi e navigare senza lasciare tracce sul PC) i rischi sono inesistenti.
Lo consiglio vivamente a tutti.

Ero un po' perplesso sull'offerta di oggi, in più il mio NOD 32 mi segnala che il file contiene il virus Win32/Packed.Themida per cui non lo scarico nemmeno. Grazie sempre GAOTD ma stavolta virus a parte non ci siamo molto eh?
