This is of very limited use to the home user as it is designed to be installed on a windows server based system running with two network cards and configured as a NAT router. Most home users won't have this. It *might* be of limited use on a home system using say a 3G dongle or USB ADSL modem and windows internet connection sharing to share the connection with other users via an ad-hoc wifi mesh or via the lan Ethernet port connected to a switch, but it does not claims ICS compatability... I no longer have that configuration so cannot test it in that role.
Seems to be what many people are looking for, to make a network more secure. I always take a first look at the homepage, to get an impression about the developers. This first impression was quite good - BUT: You have to read the section "Corporate" quite carefully, to find out where that company resides. I maybe a little bit paranoid, but who shall install a packet sniffer on his network, when the developers fail to clearly state who they are and where you can find them. It has to do with openness and trust. Some countries have a law, that a website has to offer that information with 1 click. And that's for good reason!

This is a commercial product which requires an annual renewal. You are getting a year for free and then you will be required to uninstall or cough up for another year. How does that make it a trojan? A trojan is a non self-replicating rogue program that says it is doing something and actually does something else. This program monitors network traffic - how is it a trojan?

I have a Dell laptop with XP-SP3 wireless connected to my router connecting me to the internet.
I was able to download and run the software (and yes it is preregistered) but I cannot start using it because it does not detect any adapter and therefore I cannot monitor any traffic at all.
(the adapter screen is empty)
Am I doing something wrong? I don't see a way of manually add an adapter?!
It seems this software must 'see' the adapter automatically.
Is this software not to be used when connected wireless??

I use an earlier version of this program, a GOTD last year. To put it simply: When you start the program it monitors what happens at your connection to Internet. The program is rather advanced and I shall not pretend that I can use all functions but I am learning...
# 3 Molly Barton: My version of the program (SAX2 Version 3) does not monitor a USB dongle -it only works with a standard network card. Probably it is the same with your version, unfortunately.
I have found this program useful and reliable. You can monitor your network traffic if you use a router or directly through a modem.
It has helped me to solve problems with my ADSL, for example when Windows Update suddenly stopped working. I would very much appreciate if the vendor would clarify if there is a time limit to this version as #4 DrLongBear says.
This is a very trustworthy an serious company according to my experience and I very much recommend the program although the learning curve is rather steep.

Un buon antivirus con firewall serve appunto da firewall.
Aggiungerci programmi anti malware (programmi che sembrango sicuri) e siti pericolosi credo sia obbligatorio.
Questo mi sembra un firewall (che ho già) + un antispyware (ne ho due, gratuiti) al prezzo di un paio di programmi commerciali.
Io ci rifletterei.

Mi sembra una ragazza (o bambina?? LOL!) affamata di conoscenze informatiche che però, come la maggioranza dei qui presenti, è ahimé all'A-B-C nell'uso del PC e di Internet (d'altronde siamo in ITALY no?? Patria di TV e Cellulari dipendenti...LOL!), oltre che nella conoscenza della lingua italiana (che c'azzecca l'IPOCRISIA con i commenti ai software?? Mah!!) e, come l'80% degli Italiani, di quella inglese.....LOL!
Quanto al programma di oggi direi che è un ottimo programma per chi gestisce i sistemi informativi di una piccola-media impresa con un SERVER di Windows based on (at least) TWO NETWORK CARDS e configurato come un NAT router.
E d'altronde bastava vedere il prezzo della licenza per capire che il tool di oggi non è certo adatto per gli HOME USERS come i qui presenti!!!
Ergo UTILITA' pari a ZERO per il 99,99999% dei frequentatori di questo sito (HOME USERS) non solo perché nessuno di essi è esperto in sicurezza informatica (non lo sono neppure io se è per questo, pure essendo indiscutibilmente uno SPECIAL ONE...LOL!) ma soprattutto perché buona parte di voi non è capace nemmeno di testare e scrivere una review su un banalissimo software e tralascio per non infierire quelli che non riescono neppure a registrare la licenza di GAOTD...LOL!
A me poi programmi così fanno un baffo perché ho già nei miei PC un SISTEMA DI PROTEZIONE FORMIDABILE a prova di bomba e ovviamente FREE (vi piacerebbe conoscerlo eh?? LOL!)
Ad ogni modo, quando vengono proposti questi software ultraprofessionali, mi chiedo se quelli di GAOTD leggono i commenti dei loro visitors: secondo voi ci sono o ci fanno?? LOL!

sospetto dei programmi che "stroncano sul nascere le intrusioni"... presidio la mia rete con controlli diretti e non automatizzati e con doppio firewall software/hardware opportunamente istruiti...
