I like Ashampoo software and have quite a few of their programs. I have Slideshow Studio HD2 which was installed in December 2011. This offering is described as PART of HD4. Am I better to stick with HD2, or load this partial HD4? What would I gain or lose?

I like Ashampoo products as well and have a couple installed. As far as this being part of HD4 is concerned, it's probably just a limited version of HD4 with constant prompts to to upgrade to the full version.
This program is on the Ashampoo site as freeware and can be downloaded anytime, and you can see the difference, by clicking the details tab of each product.

If I were you, I would install this software and play with it in order to see if I like it better. Chances are you may decide to keep both of these programs.
