Why? You can do this in almost any video editor or video converter free or paid... to have a paid for piece of software that only does this seems a little bit silly when there is a good probability that most people will already have this functionality installed on their PC... any of those winx converters could do it for instance as could Xmedia recode or the ffmpeg.exe command line tool most of these video programs are just simple GUI shells for.

TK, I have to agree with you. Over the past 10 or 12 months, I've downloaded maybe 5 video editors from GOTD. Now that number is down to 2, deleting the rise of them. They all do pretty much the same thing, so it comes down to who's interface do you like better. I'm not saying Adoreshare CutoMe is bad!!! Just that market is flooded with good video editors and many are freeware.

The program ffconver.exe is built for windows 7 and above... not sure why that is in the installer if this program is supposed to be equally functional on Windows 10 or XP! Or why it is digitally signed by Tenorshare Co.,Ltd. is that Adoreshares "other" name? When I just did a trial convertion of part of an mpg video to a GIF file it threw an error because to do the conversion it spawn ffconver.exe which is built with dependancies only available in windows 7 and above... so looks like the System Requirements of this that do include both XP and Vista are in error. I thought it might have used the avcodec-56.dll which are older ffmpeg libraries than the staticly built ffconver.exe but no it seems not. Ah I see what it's doing, it is using the older XP and vista compatible ffmpeg DLL's for video to video cutting and converting but to convert to GIF it is using the windows 7 and above ffconver.exe presumably because they could not get the older DLL's to handle conversion to GIF properly. I would love to hear why they feel in this day and age they feel it appropriate to design and build a very simple GUI on top of ffmpeg open source software and design it in such a way that this little GUI program demands to have elevated rights!!!!!! have you never heard of %AppData% for storing the two .db files containing the settings and registration data and the seperate log file... and the %temp% folder for storing intermediate files if any are needed during conversion? You should not be forcing users to run your program with admin rights just because you can't be bothered to put your user specific settings and registration databases in teh correct places so your program complies with Microsofts best practices and do not force the end user to give your process admin rights eveery time they want to use it.

a wonderful open-source-program

The licensed email or register code you've entered is invalid
Anybody know how to fix this? I cut and pasted right from registration email and typed it by hand. No go

TheBigOldDog, yeah you can run it as unregistered for upto 3 clip conversions per session, you just need to reset the registry value
in the key HKLM\Software\CotoMe\ to 0 each time you exit the program, why should we honor their copyright when they do not honour the copyrights of the core open source software they use or our security measures built into our operating systems by demanding it runs as an adminsitrator just to crop a video clip?
