You guys should know by now to stop rushing through installers and uncheck the boxes to not install the toolbar. If you're too lazy to uncheck 3 boxes then it is your fault the toolbar is installed, not some hijack. And if you read, it's not hijacking, it's asking for your permission and by leaving it checked, you are granting it said permission.
Seriously. It's been a few years now. Grow up and learn to read. Stop blaming the publisher.
Toward this giveaway, I have to pass, not because of anything against Ashampoo, but because I have this version already :P Thanks though - I like it much more than using the built-in tools Windows provides...

Stop defaulting to adding yet another toolbar and hijacking the search engine, please. It's insulting for experienced users, and borders on dishonest for naive users.
If you don't want the toolbar etc, do a custom install and you can untick the option.
Some notes on installation: to avoid the toolbars and web search redirect, choose "custom installation" and untick all but the first of the boxes.
Installed without a hitch on Win7x64. On completing the installation (and not launching the program,) the link for the full version key popped up by itself. The copy/paste method from the "readme" file works as well.
Added lots of add-ons by 'Conduit', messed up my registry with many references to Conduit, and Ashampoo Toolbar. Spent close to an hour cleaning out the system. DOWNLOAD AT YOUR OWN RISK....This is a hijacking program and borders on a viral scam. Unworthy of GAOTD!

Solo Spam?
a me ha installato la toolbar, si è messo come motore di ricerca preferito e come homepage per firefox e chrome, in più mi appariva una pubblicità
forse non ho letto tutto bene quando ho installato il sw, ma se volevano un cliente, l'hanno perso.
Comunque ho altri sw ashampoo e non mi hanno creato tanti problemi: questo l'ho disinstllato senza rimpianti e ora sto facendo pulizia

Per evitare lo spam Ashampoo:
andare alla pagina https://www.ashampoo.com/en/eur/mlo/account. Digitare la e-mail utilizzata e la password, cliccare su Login now.
Si aprirà la pagina My Account. Cliccare sulla scheda Setting. Deselezionare le quattro caselline e cliccare su Save Interval e su Save data. Non sarete più disturbati da Ashampoo, alla quale siamo comunque grati per i buoni e/o ottimi programmi che offre gratuitamente, anche se, ovviamente, in versioni limitate o precedenti versioni full. non uso suite di masterizzazione da quando mi sono disintossicato da Nero... Conosco però Ashampoo come buona software house: io passo, ma se siete sprovvisti di progrs per trattare cd/dvd fateci pure un pensierino (magari upgradando a Ashampoo Burning Studio 11)

Qualche tempo fa veniva regalato per natale direttamente da Ashampoo per gli utenti registrati al loro sito; scaricato in sostituzione del vecchio burning studio 9 che cominciava a darmi qualche problemino, devo dire che funziona egregiamente ed è un discreto programma di masterizzazione per l'utente medio. Non avrà tutte le funzioni avanzate di Nero (ma quanti utilizzano tutte quelle opzioni in definitiva?) ma pesa meno della metà e anche l'interfaccia grafica è semplice e piuttosto carina. Pollice su senz'altro per oggi (oppure se preferite direi una valutazione di 4 stelle su 5). Buona giornata a tutti
